2

PIRANHA

swimmers new to learning swim strokes. they have familiarity with freestyle + backstroke but are not yet able to sustain stroke more than ½ pool length.

PIRANHA 1s are:

  • fully independent in shallow water

  • able to independently swim any approximation of a stroke for ½ of a pool length (~12 y)

  • able to submerge independently with nose bubbles for 3-5 seconds

  • comfortable floating on their back but may not yet be fully independent

swimmers who can proficiently swim + are interested in building efficiency of strokes to access deeper water. common goals at this level include passing community pool swim tests + prep for swim team

PIRANHA 2s are:

  • confident + independent swimmers looking to refine their strokes + gain independence in deeper water

  • able to swim any approximation of a stroke for the majority of a pool length (> 18 y)

  • able to back float independently for at least a few seconds
