TADPOLES

Swimmers begin developing the essential skills needed for safe and independent movement through the water. Instructors teach and build on fundamental swim skills to ensure that each swimmer becomes both capable and confident in the water.

Is This Level Right For My Swimmer?

This level may be a great fit if your swimmer:

✓ Is comfortable participating in lessons

✓ Can enter the water with confidence

✓ Is ready for increased independence

✓ Is developing foundational swimming skills

Tadpoles are:
  • 3y+

  • beginner swimmers

  • learning in private, semi-private + groups lesson formats (groups are capped at 3 swimmers - an extra instructor/helper will be in water as needed)

Tadpoles are not yet 100% comfortable in water without 1:1 assistance or floating devices.
They ARE able to hear and follow simple instructions with increasing independence. 3:1 swim instruction. Parents are not permitted to join their swimmers but are welcome to offer encouragement from the deck!

What Success Looks Like

Swimmers become more confident engaging in swim lessons, demonstrating grasp of the routine, activities and key safety and swimming skills.

What's Next?

Once swimmers demonstrate confidence to engage in independent lessons with the instructor, they may progress to beginner skills in the Goldfish class.

PRO TIPS

Parents should not enter the water during a tadpole lesson unless otherwise requested by instructor (or in case of emergency). Parent participation can become a barrier to learning the skills for solo swim.

PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE

SOW Social (3).png

Prime your swimmer by letting them know what to expect before arriving at the pool.

Communicate with instructors or Admin for support to build smooth transitions.

GAME PLAN + COMMUNICATE
