Dolphins

Our dolphin level swim lessons support swimmers to focus on improving their breast stroke, back stroke, and free stroke techniques. In Dolphin lessons, instructors emphasize building endurance, learning advanced swim starts, and preparing for competitive/higher level swim programs for those swimmers who opt to do so.

Dolphin swimmers are already able to float and flutter-kick on back unassisted. They can also swim freestyle and backstroke independently.
DOLPHIN
1
Designed for confident swimmers who are fully independent in all areas of the pool (at all depths).
Dolphin 1 swimmers will likely be looking to refine their strokes in preparation for the swim team or just to fine tune their technique to improve efficiency.

DOLPHIN 1s are:
-
Able to swim a pool length (25 yds) with minimal fatigue + 2 lengths (50 yds) with some fatigue
-
Proficient in freestyle and backstroke, but still need fine tuning in each for legality + endurance
In DOLPHIN 1, swimmers will:
-
Fine tune freestyle and backstroke technique and form
-
Complete longer distance swim sets and drills to build endurance
-
Be introduced to breaststroke fundamentals
-
Reinforce treading technique and build endurance
DOLPHIN
2
At our highest swim lesson level, format/focus can be adjusted to fit the specific needs of the swimmer. Common goals for Dolphin 2 swimmers include:
-
Building endurance for longer swim capacity
-
fine tuning strokes in preparation for the swim team
-
learning a specific swim skill (flip turn, diving, treading, etc.).

DOLPHIN 2s are:
-
Likely ready for swim team or an experienced swimmer looking to refine stroke efficiency/ build endurance
-
Able to swim 2 pool lengths (50 yds) with minimal fatigue
In DOLPHIN 2, swimmers will:
-
Fine tune freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke technique and form
-
Complete longer distance swim sets and drills to build endurance and maintain proper technique even when fatigued
-
Be introduced to or reinforce butterfly fundamentals
-
Reinforce treading technique and build endurance
-
Tailor their lessons’ focus to specific interests/goals (ie: swim starts, flip turns, treading, etc.).
