Meet The Team

Honor Kalala (she/her)
Co-Founder, Swim Director & Instructor
Honor Kalala is a co-founder and instructor at Rainbow Fish! This is her 9th year teaching swim lessons and she has spent significant time in and around water as a swimmer, lifeguard and most recently playing water polo at Macalester College where she received a bachelor’s in Psychology. Honor finds it empowering and fulfilling to help new swimmers conquer anxieties in the water and develop a love and respect for swimming! Outside of the pool, she loves travelling and working on her hobbies!

Claire Kalala (she/her)
Co-Founder & Program Manager
Claire is a co-founder of Rainbow Fish Swim School. Her focus at RFSS is to organize and coordinate the swimmer and instructor schedule. She is a licensed art therapist and professional counselor, working with all kinds of people! Although the majority of her teaching has been outside of the pool, She is a very experienced swimmer and has been proximal to Honor and Rose's swim instruction for years - particularly bridging her therapeutic experience and learning with/from neurodivergent folks to develop adaptive RFSS swim curriculum.

Rose Kalala (she/her)
Instructor + Director of Outreach
Rose is a lead instructor with Rainbow Fish Swim School and has taught swim lessons for 15 years. She works as a nurse now and is a mom to two awesome boys, who love spending summers at Parkland. She truly enjoys being a part of the journey towards water safety and comfort, by supporting swimmers of all ages to master swim skills. The confidence that comes with learning to swim is immeasurable, so she thanks you for trusting her!
